Note that the total caseload at the end of the month is somewhat lower than the total number of children that received food stamps during the month because some families receiving assistance during the month may leave assistance before the end of the month.
  • To calculate rates of participation, Census Bureau estimates of the total number of children in each county for the respective year were used.
  • Percentages reflect children/youth ages birth-17 years receiving food stamps.
