Physical and Emotional Health

Health-related behaviors can affect one's health favorably or negatively.  Two such behaviors include:

  • Number & percent of adults who visited the doctor in the last 12 months;
  • Number and percent of adults who smoked cigarettes in the last 12 months.

These indicators are derived from ESRI geo-enriched data.

Behaviors we adopt can promote or limit the quality of our health, either extending or limiting our life expectancy. Annual doctor visits are considered health promotion while use of cigarettes is related to reduced life expectancy.
